Back to school!

Today is going to be devoted to packing, I'm going to a friends cabin Thursday night, then leaving the next day for Chicago to visit my best friend and Monday it's back to school for ballet classes!

It's already been a great year and I'm only a couple of days in!

New year, new you!

I spent my new years with a close friend from Concordia and rang in the New Years happy and ready for a new year! My new years resolution?

Well, go to all classes. Both regular and ballet classes, and workout once a day :) wish me luck on bettering myself in 2012!

Makeup Final!

Today was our makeup final and we were prompted the "dealers choice," which is basically a compilation of all the skills we've learned and our best use of our imagination.

My final design was called "liberty walk," and I used liquid latex as a base, cotton balls, a paper coin, and small soldier figurines. Tell me what you think!

Ps I am almost done with finals! Just have two papers to finish for Hostory of Theatre 1!

The Place You Call Home

Many people have one, many people have many, the place you call home and it's special to you. I have two, one in the northern woods of Minnesota and the other in Omaha (or Homaha as most people prefer to say).

So I'm in Homaha for break for the next two weeks. I'm so happy and excited to be here. Tonight I get to relax with a film, my mama, and some sweet potato fries. It feels great :)

Study Day doesn't necessarily imply Studying

So today is called "study day" at our University. It means that we have one whole day without classes to study for finals. Then tonight we have a breakfast dinner at 10 and our 10 year faculty serve us. It's my favorite meal of the year so I'm so excited!

As you have previously read I like to make lists. Usually of things to do but also of things I like or dislike. So here's two lists I compiled lately!

Things to do for finals:
1. Directing Paper
2. Voice and Movement Paper
3. Final Makeup Morgue! (next blog!)
4. LCT paper
5. HOT paper

Things I like to do while procrastinating for finals:
1. Online Shop
2. Make a christmas list
3. Clean
4. Make lists of things I want to do over finals
5. Go to the humane society and play with cats!

So heres to procrastination! Good luck everyone with finals!

Bachelor of Arts is another way of saying Multiple Emphasis'

While I have an emphasis in performing I do not do only acting or performing in general. With a BA, as opposed to a BFA, I have to do design classes as well, such as costumes or set design. This semester I took makeup and found out how much I enjoyed makeup. I found myself enjoying it so much I was even thinking I could do it as a profession.

Of course, acting is my first choice, but acting jobs are unreliable and scarce so it is always good to have multiple platforms in theatre. So I am also going to start working in makeup.

Recently I did this application of an "accident victim." the accident was a plastic surgery mishap, where the nose was broken and upper cheek was exposed. Here it is! Tell me what you think!

Last run of Un|discovered

Today is the last run of the dance show. I am so happy to have it over with and done :) it was a great show to be apart of and I really enjoyed the process as a dance minor. I had breakfast with my dad this morning and I'm so glad he could make it up!

After the show its time to start the finals chaosity! Time for another to-do list!

1. Prompt book for directing
2. LCT paper
3. Memorize sides for Voice and Movement
4. Dance History!!
5. HOT paper

I think I'll be spending a lot of time in the library...
